Clinical excellence
Advanced comprehensive eye tests.
We offer the most advanced and comprehensive eye examinations that surpass mere vision testing. Our team of highly trained optometrists utilises state-of-the-art equipment to detect a range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts.
At Hodd Barnes & Dickins, we take the time to perform a comprehensive eye examination tailored to your specific needs; there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Our experienced optometrists provide you with the best possible care and attention, which continues even after you leave the practice.
We understand that each patient is unique, so we customise our examinations to ensure you receive a thorough and seamless experience that keeps you relaxed and comfortable.
What to expect
A Hodd, Barnes & Dickins examination lasts up to 40 minutes.
If any specific tests are necessary, we will inform you in advance about their duration whenever possible. In addition to evaluating your vision and addressing any vision-related issues, such as the need for glasses or contact lenses, we also screen for potential eye conditions like glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration.
Our optometrists undergo continuous training and maintain connections with eye hospitals, ensuring our patients benefit from the latest research findings. The optometrist will always explain the results of each assessment, and you will have ample opportunity to ask questions. Recommendations consider your work environment, lifestyle and leisure activities.
What does it entail?
You will be asked about your vision, overall health, family health history and lifestyle. While assessing your eyes, the optometrist will focus on the following:
- 01 Vision quality with and without glasses
- 02 Ability to focus effectively
- 03 Eye muscle performance
- 04 Internal eye health, ideally using our OCT machine
- 05 Front-of-eye health
- 06 Pressure within the eye
- 07 Your new prescription
- 08 Additional tests for depth perception, colour vision and visual field if needed
How frequently should I undergo an eye examination?
We recommend regular eye tests for everyone, including children, even if you are not experiencing any vision issues. Typically, we advise people to get their eyes tested once a year. The maximum period between examinations should not exceed two years.
AI-powered cardiovascular screening
